CIVIL SOCIETY, PRIVATE SECTOR AND THE PUBLIC AUTHORITIES UNITED FOR THE 2018 YEAR OF TROIA

The 8th of January 2017, by the call of Çanakkale Chamber of Trade and Industry – ÇTSO, a joint declaration is signed by civil society, private sector, local authority, government and university representatives of Çanakkale
Participants: Prof. Dr. Yücel Acer (Rector of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University), Kemal Dokuz (Director of Çanakkale Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism), Süha Özden (Assistant to Rector of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University) and Doç.Dr. Lütfi Akay (Academician of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University), Selçuk Semizoğlu (Vice Chairman of the Directors Board of ÇTSO), Mustafa Kansu (Member of the Directors Board of ÇTSO), Kaya Üzen (President of Commodity Exchange Market of Çanakkale), Erdal Akarsu (President of ÇASIAD), Ali Osman Yıldız (president of the Çanakkale Branch of MÜSİAD), Ünal Özcan (General Secretary of the Union of Chamber of Merchants and Craftsmen of Çanakkale), Kemal Pazarbaşı (President of ÇATOD) and Armağan Aydeğer (General Secretary of ÇATOD), TÜRSAB Çanakkale Körfez Bölgesel Yürütme Kurulu Genel Sekreteri Ahmet Çelik (General Secretary of Regional Directors Board for Çanakkale Gulf of TÜRSAB), Adem Biçer (President of ÇARO), Kadir Kenar (President of the Çanakkale History and Culture Foundation), Sefer Göztepe (the President of the Association for Çanakkale Tourism and Promotion), Yrd. Doç. Dr. Seyhan Boztepe (President of Troya Culture Association), Ozan Yozgat (Representative of Çanakkale Association of Professional Cooks), Kenan Çelik (Guide) and H.Sema Sandal (General Secretary of ÇTSO).
The co-signed declaration states the fallowing objectives:
– The official announcement by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, of 2018 as the year of Troia to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the admission of the archaeological site of Troia to UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List.
– The implementation of a promotion and communication campaign for 2018 Year of Troia, on every official tourism and culture platform such as fairs, printed materials and social media.
– The development, design and organization of international science, education, culture, art, sport and tourism projects and events all year long in 2018, that will resonate with the conceptual framework of Troia.
– The inauguration of the Troia Museum in 2018 with international groundbreaking attractions and performances.
