Turkey’s world cultural heritage ‘ancient city of Troy’ is the focus of interest of international fairs.
Troia, one of the most famous ancient cities of the world, which was declared as ‘The Year of Troy 2018’ in the 20th anniversary of UNESCO World Heritage List entry, has finally took part in SATTE 2018 which is the biggest tourism and travel fair in South Asia.
South Asia Travel and Tourism Fair held in New Delhi, India’s capital city – SATTE 2018’s most interesting spot was ‘Troy Horse’.
Culture and Tourism Ministry participate in as a partner country with the 408-square-meter giant stand at the fair. The ‘Troy Horse’ created by Turkey has become a shooting spot of visitors .
Turkish Ambassador of Indian Sakir Ozkan and Turkey’s Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Dr. Torun H. Ziya Taşkent made an opening and gave information about “The Year of Troy
2018”, “The ancient city of Troy” and “Gallipoli Historical Peninsula” to the New Delhi Tourism Ministry officials who visited Turkey’s stand .
27 tour operators which operating in different regions of Turkey, travel agencies, public institutions and promotion associations participated to the opening .In Opening was held talks with tourist associations such as OTOAI (Outbound Tour Operators Association of India), TAFI (Travel Agents Federation of India) and tour operators such as Thomas Cooks, Cox & Kings .
With the interviews which was held in SATTE 2018 fair, in bookings for 2018 it is estimated that there will be increase about 35- 40 percent in the number of Indian tourists .
